I am so sorry to hear that. I had a breif conversation with him when I attended the Fredricia Jazz frokost and I found that he had a great dry wit as well as a great musical talent. So sorry for your loss.

I'm so, so sad. Stefan was such a wonderful guy and a phenomenal bassist. Absolutely irreplaceable. His knowledge of music was incredible and, for one thing, I shall miss the fact that we shared a favorite clarinettist, William Thornton Blue. Love you, Stefan, you will always be with me.

Stefan was a fine bassist and gentleman. Whoever succeeds him will have very big shoes to fill.
Vale, Stefan!

Brian Towers, for the Hot Five Jazzmakers, Toronto

I can scarcely believe this, another wonderfully gifted and talented man is now lost to us.
I shall treasure the memories from my November 2004 tour with "New Orleans Delight", when I was fortunate to get to know Steffan quite well.
It is shocking to realise that both Stefan and our "Hot Five Jazzmakers" bass player, Bryan Day have gone within a three month period. In the summer of 2009 both of those wonderful players were on centre stage playing together (yes, two basses!) at the Maribo Jazz Festival, as "New Orleans Delight" and the "Hot Five Jazzmakers" closed the festival with a grand finale.
My deep sympathies to all the N.O.D band members - I know how you must feel.

The first time I visited the jazz festival in Askersund in the early eighties I got spellbound listening to Scaniazz. Their sound hit the cockles of my heart especially the eminent back-up of the sousaphone, phenomenally executed by a gentleman of the same size as the instrument. During the coming thirty years I was given the privilege to listen to Stefan on a great number of occasions, now playing the double-bass. Traditional Feetwarmers of Lund has left an ineffaceable mark in my mind where Stefan had a principal part. We have arranged a number of jazz parties since 1997 in Linköping and three times Stefan has visited us with New Orleans Delight, enormously appreciated.
When Mattssons Pub in Malmö had its roaring years I could phone Stefan and he helped me to get a table. I miss his friendly and considerate character. The memory of him will last in me.

I din't know about Stefan's leaving this world behind until now! I couldn't say that I knew "Fejset" well but we always had a nice little chat at festivals or wherever our roads crossed. He had a good sence of humour and he was a "jazz musician". We'll all miss him!
